Windowextensionsinstall extensions is for installing.rbz files.Simple.rb files are placed in your plugins/ directory. The exact location depends on SU version and operating system. For SU up to version 8, on a Mac, they go into either /Library/Application Support/Google SketchUp 8/SketchUp/plugins/ for system-wide plugins or in $HOME//Library/Application Support/Google SketchUp 8/SketchUp/plugins/ for personal plugins. Change 'Sketchup 8' to whatever version of SU you have.For newer versions of SU, I think you use 'Sketchup' instead of 'Google Sketchup'.Dunno where they go for Windows.You can also open the Ruby console and enter the command Sketchup.findsupportfile('Plugins') and you'll find out for sure where they go.Anyway, once you've copied the plugin to your plugins/ directory, quit SU and restart it.It's actually pathetically easy to convert a.rb file to a.rbz file. Just place it inside a.zip file and then rename the.zip file to.rbz. If you do this, then you can use the windowextensionsinstall extensions menu item to install it and after that, it's easy to disable it or remove it. And you don't have to restart SU.

I'm attaching many photos for each method to show and maybe we can figure this out.First off - I'm running SketchUp 2014 on PC.I used the method for finding plugin locations.Tried dragging and dropping the plugin file to the plugin directory.To no avail, will move on the conversion method. Searched windowsextensions and tools as well. The 'wire tool' was not anywhere to be found.Converting.It works!!!.But, not on all the plugins I was given:(.

But I'm glad it worked after step 5.As for your error message, my Ruby Fu isn't very good, and I know even less about Windows, but it looks like one file didn't find another file that it depended on. Did you install InstantRoofNuiMethods.rbs before whatever you were installing gave that error message?It could also be that the capitalization of InstantRoofNuiMethods got lost somewhere along the way.I'm afraid that we've reached the limits of my knowledge.
I'm not familar with the.lingvo file extension, so I can't comment on those. Most of the extensions that I have installed are of the.rb variety.
How you interact with them can vary depending on who developed them. They're usually listed in the interface up top in the menu system under the Window or Extensions selections.
